Van James
Ringneck Ride Inc. has lost a dear friend, guide, conservationist, and fellow dog lover. Van James at a young age of 57 passes way Saturday May 3, 2008 while doing what he loved HUNTING. Many may not know this, but Van was Ringneck Ridge's 1st member and 1st official guide. His eagerness to help RRI succeed as was felt by our clients, members, and staff. We are heartbroken and without words to express our loss. Seen here with one of this best pals in the field Bourbon. If you have had the pleasure of being guided out with Van you would know how he loved this German Short hair Pointer, enough to do it all over again with Gunner his always looking for trouble GSH pup. As an avid hunter and member of Pheasants Forever Van's family is asking for those wanting to make a donation in Van's name to please send your donations to either: PheasantsForever.org, Luzern County SPCA and The local chapter of NEPA Pheasants Forever (NEPAPF.org)
A message from CEO: John Piccotti
Hello members and non members,
I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for hunting here at Ringneck Ridge Inc. Without you, we could not continue to build, plant, and expand the hunting grounds. Your comments and suggestions have helped make RRI bigger and better each year.
As many of you know we are planning a competition hunt in October 2008. I look forward to handing out the Grand Prize for the TOP DOG. As our logo states: "A Gun, A Dog and A challenge". Well hear it is! I challenge each one of you to bring it to the fields. Lets have some fun and may the TOP DOG win.
Thank you,
John Piccotti
Congratulations !
Desiree, Iko, and Reme have all earned points towards their Junior Hunter titles. I would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in the hunt test. I had a great time with everyone and enjoyed seeing all the dogs/ puppies perform. I look forward to our next adventure and finishing our dogs with a JH title.
Look at what's coming to RRI this fall season 2008 - 2009:
We are planing to holding a competition Chuckar Challenge at RRI on October 19, 2008. We are interested in your feedback. If you'd like to get involved or register for the event, please send an email to AprilHost@ringneckridge.com or call 570-760-5516. This event is open to the public. We look forward to having a fun filled day with prizes for the top dogs. We have posted the rules and regulations along with registration forms below. We are limited to the amount of registrations we can accept. Don't miss out! Secure a run time and register today.
More dog heated indoor/ outdoor kennels will be built to hold our pals in the field, along with a fenced in area to allow room to run. Location will be the back side of the lodge. 6' high fencing to protect against breakout and eagerness to get in the fields. We are hoping this will allow our pals to play in the dog yard before and after field work.
RRI is also hoping to have a youth day. John, as many of you know enjoys letting the kids get a hands on experience when visiting RRI. We are hoping to team up with local businesses this fall and put on a fun filled weekend with the kids. What's included: learning about pheasants, chuckar, and bob white quail, gun safety, habitat, gun dogs, clay bird shooting and much more. If your interested in donating or would like to volunteer, please call RRI at 570-868-8237.
Thanks again for all your support, Happy Hunting! The staff at Ringneck Ridge Inc.
